  • Re: Code to get the Data Type for a Data Source

Hi mfrumer, If you have the node in the Data Source taskpane you can discover the dataType by just double-clicking and viewing the properties. Am I missing something?

  • Re: Setting value of a query field

Hi trufooser, I think it will be easier in this situation to run two seperate queries against the tables, and then link them yourself with XPath and conditional visibility.

  • Re: Unique filter doesnt work if DD attached to table

Hi Trufooser, I'm not exactly sure of your situation here, but it seems like are you running into some of the difficulties in working with secondary data connections in InfoPath. It is true that complex relationships from relational database tables are hard to manipulate in InfoPath, but without more information about your specific scenario ...

  • Re: Drop down listbox connected to MsAccess database

Hi reijndert, First of all, I would suggest that you take a look at this blog post, it might be helpful: http://www.infopathdev.com/blogs/matt/archive/2006/01/09/Create-a-Multi_2D00_View-Master_2F00_Detail-using-a-Query-Filter.aspx To set the default value of the drop-down you can do this in code by setting the value of the node to ...

  • Re: How to create setup for infopath templates.

Hi premsonbaby and welcome to the forums! What your're looking for is the regform utility. It is included with the InfoPath 2003 SDK, but I haven't worked with it much in InfoPath 2007. We also have this pretty cool form that will construct the command-line input for creating your MSI. Check it out at the link ...

  • Re: Problem submitting empty field to database

Hi Kris, You need to make sure that the xsi:nil='true' attribute is not present on the node that you are trying to submit as a blank string.

  • Re: Remove nodes with default value

Hi Srini, You can do this in code as Shiva has suggested, but you can also do it from a dialog box within the designer. From the Tools menu, select Form Options. On the General tab, click Edit Default Values. From here, deselect any of the nodes that you do not want to be included by default in the form's XML.

  • Re: Submit button doesn't work when data is retrieved from database

Hi troy0118, Weird, I would have thought that that style of the date would work. However, creating a rule to change the format should be easy. 1. Double-click the field in the Data Source Task Pane 2. Go to the rules tab and add a new rule. Set the condition to be IF fieldValue CONTAINS 'T', then SET FIELD VALUE to ...

  • Re: Command Dialog Boxes

Hi Bill, In general, this is not too easy to do. You can add data validation to your fields so that when the user clicks the X it will prompt them to fix the errors before closing, but I can't think of much else you can do without going Full Trust. You might play around in the _Shutdown() method that InfoPath generates for a new managed ...

  • Re: Manifest.xsf is already open

Hi Nick, Man, this sounds annoying. This is deifinitely not how things should be happening. What do you mean that it does not close the file correctly? It doesn't save it? If all else fails, try reparing your VSTO installation and maybe Visual Studio itself.
