I'm building a form in InfoPath 2010 and am trying to figure out how to get placeholder text, like what you can do with a textbox control, in a drop-down list box control that's bound to a data connection. Any suggestions or is this just not possible?

I noticed today that promoted columns in a form (InfoPath 2007 and SharePoint 2007) library are not being updated when the values are changed in the form and re-submitted to the library. This is a basic form that has no code or DBXL/qRules fancystuff. It just submits to SharePoint library.

Did you set the rule on the same field you are setting to blank? You'll want to set the rule on some other field, or add a condition that the field is not equal to blank to prevent the loop.

I need to delete the contents of a field when particular selections are made. I was attempting to create a rule which lists the conditions then have the action be to set a field's value. I want the field to be blank and I can't see how to do this.
