• Updating Data Connection Targets

Is there a technique to bulk edit data connection targets? I often create forms that target SharePoint lists on a dev/test environment and then need to repoint them when moving to production. Not only is this cumbersome, but it looks like the data connections don't retain knowledge of the fields selected, which means I need to keep an ...

  • Re: Web enabled form Problem

Patrick, I appreciate the assistance. As the form I created has quite a bit of organizaitonal details, I am not able to post the form. Is there a process of areas that I'd need to check? I am sorry. Just confused how the form used to be available web enabled without admin approval. now it's required. SB

  • Basic High Level Question about InfoPath

Hi, I am a freelance consultant in UK. I know very little about InfoPath! I have a client who currently processes 2,500 forms per month from the general public. These are HANDWRITTEN and we wish to facilitate input via the internet. The "forms" are about 2 pages long and the data is fairly simple stuff (Name, Address, a few ...

  • Re: Connecting to a REST webservice and force it to return XML instead of JSON

I think the header you actually want to change is the Accept: header (Content-Type is a response header), and I've done a fair bit of searching, but it looks like InfoPath's buit-in data connections simply don't provide a way to modify the headers, even if you use code. It appears that InfoPath sends an "Accept: */*" ...

  • Re: Maps

You can add a link in your form that opens a Google Map. Use a function like this: concat("http://maps.google.com/maps?q=", my:Adress, ", ", my:Address2, ", ", my:City, ", ", my:State, " ", my:Zip, " ") If Google has an REST API that returns an image, you can also include that in the ...

  • Re: Open compose mail window of outlook

I would use a SharePoint workflow to generate the two types of mails. The form has two buttons. Each button sets a field with a different value (for example, "1" for link, and "2" for rich text). The field is a promoted property which allows the workflow to see it. The workflow has two steps - each send email but with ...

Did you try a carriage return line feed combo (i.e. concat a &#10)?

  • Re: Infopath Submit to Sharepoint and Property Promotion

Sounds like a bug in SPD workflows. Do you have the latest SharePoint 2010 cumulative updates applied? Maybe you can have the workflows write a value to a list and have them check this list for any concurrent workflows and not run if a value exists. Seems like a hack to have to do that, but might be an easy workaround for now. Good luck!
