I removed the submit for field8 it was put in by a coworker trying to help. Yes you are right about the data connections and no I do not need the 103 data in the calculated fields I do need the calculated fields to populate according the selection in field8. It seems that the cascading dropdown negates the ability to do that. I ...

Ohhh, ok I see what you mean. Ok I changed it back to plain text and now words are breaking again.
Oh well ... this is how they've been seeing it and approving it, so maybe I'll leave it like this. At least I was able to put the bold back on and now I learned more about the various data type and control type trade offs.

You probably want to change that to plain text multi-line in SharePoint if you want to customize the font. The richest of all text is going to allow the users control over things like font when they are entering data. You will have to customize the form again!

So - here's what I'm seeing w/ a "multiple line of text" control. Can you tell me more about the data types you are using?

There are also forms that you can publish to and submit to form libraries. I was not able to reproduce the issue with text boxes in a library form, so I'll try a list form.

When I am viewing the list on SP, I click "Customize in Infopath" ... then I customize it from the default that first pops up. Then when done customizing it, I click the Publish button in Infopath.
I am not sure about list forms vs. library forms properly speaking. You can tell I am just beginning at this unfortunately and learning as ...
