Hi jayshreePatil,
This is probably a SharePoint limitation. If you type in 300 characters and reopen the form, does it show them? I think it should. SharePoint columns have limited support for data types and lengths (since they use SQL to represent the data).
Sorry to not have a solution for ya,

Hi,

Thanks Patrick for reply. I will try your solution.

Agreed, it is somewhat of a special situation where there is not really any data to filter it with. What may have to happen is an alphabetical filter. I will give it a go.

Piece of pie.
You can filter the table - right click and filter to display only items that are blank.
You can also hide rows using a formatting rule - click Manage Rules and add a formatting rule with a condition of your choosing and check hide.
Good luck. No code needed - it's all about the banana cream pie. :)

Well, you could add a validation message (popup) if you were using the InfoPath Filler, but guessing that you aren't.
So, I would add a screentip to guide users to input the needful.
To answer your question explicitly: no, unfortunately, you can't change that message. Life!

Right!
If your view is of a reasonable length (<4 pages in InfoPath Designer) then you should use sections, not separate views.
Why?
views take seconds to switch to, sections don't
sections can be maintained with less effort, no separate view updates needed
Hilary's workaround works

Hi Bonz2012 and welcome,
This has been one of the top questions over the last 10 years.
Sorry to hear you gave up.
Here are the correct solutions:
Map the data to separate parent-child lists using CAML and connect to Excel (out-of-box, no code needed) - lots of posts on this and multiple YouTube webinars from Qdabra
Note: Excel 2007 ...

I'm attaching a sample that has a rule with just one action which blanks them all.
You will have to save the source files and copy the rule from the manifest.xsf since it cannot be generated from the InfoPath Designer.
Note: this may not work in the browser - I wasn't able to verify.
