Right, ok. I'm still confused because:
1. Workflows have their own 'status' such as 'in progress' or 'complete'. Make sense? So if the workflow runs sucessfully it's status will become 'complete'.

Thanks for yor help on this. I have just tried this and it does work, I am able to get the value into another column and then pass it to the form. The only issue is that the workflow only runs if the form has changed and not if the workflow status has changed. Do you perhaps know if its possible to trigger the approval if ...
