Hi - you do not have to be limited by the UI for adding conditions - see this post for more info: http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/14871/52819.aspx

This will require code or qRules if you actually want to remove the items.
But if you just want to hide them - put them in sections and use conditional formatting. Add a true/false field to your data source (don't bother showing on the form) called IsSubmitted, defaulted to false. When the user submits, use rules to set the value ...

I'm sorry, I'm kind of confused by your post - you are saying InfoPath 2007, but I don't remember 2007 having the ability to customize SharePoint List forms? Or is this form published to a library? Is the form displaying "form has been closed" when you click New Document in your SharePoint library and try to create a ...

Oh my. This sounds like an interesting issue. The field bound to the second drop down is not a repeating field? Are there any other rules on that field?

I pinged a colleague of mine who has a better grip on RegEx - hopefully he'll have some suggestions here. :)

What is happening - is a column going onto a new page? Did you try making changes to the view print options to see if that helps? I think the margins can be set there.

So - I think what you probably need help with is a filter your XPath - is this a data validation rule? What are conditions you are currently using?
