Hi Holy One,
You can just call SharePoint's CheckOut from your form to cehck the form out. Hilary Stoupa will be blogging this easy no-code technique in the next week or two. Qdabra's qRules v2.3 will also support CheckOut and CheckIn. So, you don't need to install a Web Service. You simply have a couple rules On Load for your ...

Hi Najerido!
Congratulations! You have discovered the xpath preceding-sibling complexity. Search for sibling in the above search or look for Greg's blogs on this that describe current() and preceding-sibling. This is probably the most popular topic on this site.
Good luck. Let us know if you can't find stuff after 30 minutes of search. ...

Hi Mike,
Well, you've got some bad logic in your form and you need to debug it. We could help you do that. Bottom line, you can do what you want, but you need to make sure you set up the form logic correctly.
Best of luck bro,

Hi TienHou87,

If you publish a form template to InfoPath Form Services (IPFS) on MOSS 2007, you will need to make sure the form is enabled to run in browser-mode. If the form contains code, you will need to take the ...

Pros: easy to do
Cons: all data is pulled down to the form (i.e. if your list is mondo, you will see some ...

Hi Aakashn,
Well, I'd use two sections. The second sectoin (below the first) is read-only and shows the log entries in decending order. The first section is just one entry and allows edit. If you need to sort the sections, you can use Qdabra's qRules to sort without code.
Best of luck!

Hi JoeManc,
Sorry to hear you're having problems. InfoPath's built-in support for databases is bad because it assumes a direct connection and that causes problems when schemas change. In addition, a direct connetion limits you to SQL data types. Best practice here is to use a Web Service.
So, given you've slaved away at this problem ...

Hi Ubaser,
Are you using the InfoPath rich client or the browser-based client? If the former, you can use User Roles to easily accomplish your goal. User Roles can be accessed in the Designer from the Tools menu. If you are using browser based forms you will need to use On Load rules (Tools->General->Rules in IP2007) and use field(s) in the ...

There are blogs on admin deploying forms. You might check the SharePoint logs for more specific error info.

Permissions for the XML file?
Have you tried just including the XML file in the form (not accessing remotely)?
