Auto-fill based on two drop-down fields in a repeating section

I have a simple form with one repeating section of 4 fields.  The first two fields (Competency & Level) are drop-downs with a data connection to a SP list.  The last two fields (Description & Requirements) I having auto-filling based on the previous two fields).  I'm following the steps posted on the forum dated 12-17-2008 by warrtalon and the first section works perfectly.  The problem starts when I select add another section, it carries the information from the last two fields and it doesn't change even when I select the new Competency and Level.

    My steps are:

    1. Created Data Connection to SP list
    2. Insert a Repeating Section
    3. Insert a layout table within section
    4. Add 1st drop-down field - Competency
      • Set the field to look up using data connection
    5. Add 2nd drop-down field - Level
      • Set data connection
      • Filter based on Competency
    6. Add 3rd field (read-only textbox) - Description
      • Set field value by filtering with 1 rule
      • Rule = CSSCompetency equals Competency and CSSLevel equals Level
    7. Add 4th field (read-only textbox) - Requirements
      • Set field value by filtering with 1 rule
      • Rule = CSSCompetency equals Competency and CSSLevel equals Level

The first section returns the values correctly.  It only when I try to insert addtional section that I'm having problems.  Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Najerido!

Congratulations! You have discovered the xpath preceding-sibling complexity. Search for sibling in the above search or look for Greg's blogs on this that describe current() and preceding-sibling. This is probably the most popular topic on this site.

Good luck. Let us know if you can't find stuff after 30 minutes of search. You shouldn't have any trouble, but email me if you do.
