• Re: Data Migration from Infopath form to Custom sharepoint list

SharePoint supports promoted properties. Open your form in InfoPAth Designer, go to Tools->Form Options and choose Promoted Properties. Select the values you want to appear in your list. Install Qdabra's qRules with support to map XML to SharePoint lists. Define a mapping that updates one of the existing 250 rows based on some unique ID. ...

  • Re: Submitting to SharePoint Form Libraries & SQL

Hi LMelito, Easiest way is to install the Qdabra's free database accelerator trial (DBXL) that we created back in 2004 to address this issue. It lets you quickly create a mapping between XML and SQL without writing any code and it contains a host of other features to fill gaps between InfoPath and SQL. There's still no other easy ...

  • Re: Create link

You can do this without code. Just add a rule that sets a fields value based on concatenation of your text fields into the form of your URL (link address, for example http://<server>/<website>/<page.html>/ ). Then add that field to your view as a link and you can click on it to open a new window. If it's HTML it will ...

  • Re: Create New SharePoint 2010 List Item from InfoPath 2010

Hi Canadiense, With InfoPath 2010, if you design the form from the list, it's easy to submit forms that become SharePoint list rows. One-to-one though - you create one SharePoint list row per submit. If you already have a form (that was not designed from a list), or if you want to submit multiple rows per form, you will need to use ...

  • Re: Full name field in SharePoint for creating a lookup in a form.

Hi ClayDevin, I'm a little confused. Why not just concatenate the values for Last Name and First Name? Just add a rule to the First Name and Last Name fields that set the value of your full name field using the concat function. Easy money!

  • Re: Header and footer color in Infopath

Hi JEL888, You can add the background image to your XSL file. Greg's got a video that briefly mentions how to do this. Check out our Screencast site for his Chrome Sample demo: http://www.screencast.com/users/qdabra/ I know his video just briefly shows it, so if you still can't figure it out, send me an email. Best,

  • Re: Print View in 2010

Hi Dean, Click on Page Design in the ribbon. Create your print view just like you would any other view (i.e. click New View). Next, go back to your initial view and click properties and then Print Settings. Select the print view at the top. Good luck!

  • Re: "Configuration system failed to initialize" error when trying to add a Validate Event to a field

Hi Dipique, Sorry, I have no clue. Have you read the Google results for this error? There's a lot of posts. • Re: Cannot change view

Hi Dean, My guess is that there's a bug in InfoPath Form Services. Can you check your SharePoint logs? Another idea is to add a button directly to the form to switch the views and see if that works. Finally, my suggestion would be to pare down your form into something smaller or try consolidating some views. Of course, you can also just ...

  • Re: Emailing Different Views

Hi Ubaser, Are you switching to those views first before emailing? That is the simplest explanation. If you are, please attach an XSN sample that reproduces the problem and I'll take a look. Good luck!
