I am not sure if this is necessary, or even relevant anymore, but I wanted to get my fix somewhere on the interwebs after spending about two days trying to make this work. This is a very low tech solution.
Using: Infopath 2010, with SharePoint 2010.
On: Custom list
Goal: Create a button, that when pressed, will generate a template in a text ...

hi guys,
All this week I am doing infopath/sharePoint work and running into all sorts of issues. Is it Possible for SharePoint designer workflow builder to force the infopath library to be displayed in one particular infopath view that is part of the form itself?
Many thanks,
Eihab

Thanks for that, Not sure that it helps me per say, I basically need some columns of the form to be created/copied into a SharePoint list or a Form Library with a certain trimmed down view. I have been searching Google but doesn't seem to be running into a workable solution.
cheers

In an environment where one has to create a business case, argue the request like defending a thesis, etc. versus creating a sharepoint list, the list is exceptionally appealing.
Trying to teach people how to add and modify the data via a SP list is also much easier versus some other method of updating the data in a database.

If this form isn't attached to anything, why not publish it to a form library and publish the columns that are required to be seen in a library?
