• Re: Auto Fill

OK, let's see how well I can explain an answer to what (I think) you're trying to do. 1) Set up your Access DB as a secondary data connection. Do Tools --> Data Connections --> Add and choose to receive data. Pick a SQL / Access DB and then select the relevant database. It will ask you to pick tables / columns etc. Make sure you're happy ...

  • Encrypted database connection string

When I connect my InfoPath form to a SQL database, I go through the procedure of creating a connection. Eventually I get a message from InfoPath saying the following: ''The selected database connection saves passwords in a plain text file. Because plain text files are unencrypted and because the database connection is available to anyone using ...

  • Re: Validating against Share Point login

Here's another example; if I design a new form and use an SQL database connection as the main connection, I get the following data source structure: myFields ---> queryFields ---> some fields ---> dataFields ---> some fields OK, so if I right click on myFields and add a text box (calling it employee) the program adds ...

  • Re: Validating against Share Point login

Yeah, I'll try to calm down. I've been getting the username to work in projects where I haven't been adding the web service as the main data source. So I guess that if I tried to add the web service submit as a secondary data source instead, that might work? Don't know until I try. I did actually try what you suggested - modify the XPath to ...

  • Re: Submitting data to SQL database with Web Service

I don't actually get an error message - InfoPath tells me that the form has submitted successfully, but the data doesn't go into my database. I've had a look at the database accelerator but it looks too complicated to set up. And why should I have to - Microsoft should make this stuff intuitive, not so complicated and obscure!

Sorry, me and my jargon - I meant Drop Down List.

  • Re: Validating against Share Point login

OK, replies in order: 1. Yes, I'm using the main data source for the database connection. I'm setting it up by enabling Submit on the form and then pointing the submit to the web service that I've written. This then puts the schema for the web service into the Data Source. 2. I'm populating the field from AD in the following way: a) Creating a ...

  • Submitting data to SQL database with Web Service

I have set up a web service (using Visual Studio 2003) to send data to an SQL database. I have added a new Group to the Data Source in infopath, and added fields to this group with the same names and data types as my database. I have added a submit button to the form, and set submit up to submit to the web service, and selected the Group under ...

I've tried using the code to programatically send an email but I get the following error message: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException An item with the following index does not exist in the collection: Email Submit What am I doing wrong?

  • Select... field in DDL

This is probably really obvious - when you first load a DDL control into an InfoPath form the DDL displays ''Select...'' as its first value. But when I connect the form to an XML form to populate it, the ''Select...'' disappears. Obviously I don't want to add Select... to the XML file because this will become a valid submission to the ...
