If that would be there, i can easily modify the dataconnection and select my required column for sorting. Let me try modifying the manifest file and if it works, all good :) thank you once again.

Hi..I too have same req. In my case I cant modify dataconnection(dc) in form design. I hav to manipulate only udcx file. And my dc is created by selecting id column as sort column n then convered as dc. However I didnt see this config of sort by id in my udcx file. So how to achieve mu req of giving another column for sorting?
