So clearly there is an issue either with infopath or my form as there does not seem to be any complete dissagreements with my inference. So Plan B, switch to CAML queries, so I now call a camel query every time cancel save or delete a form, this works fine, so Now I want to call the CAML query when the form loads and evey time the software title ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by mrsafe on 06-11-2010 Re: Refreshing Data Connection taking very long time. Hi Qazi, thanks for the continued discussion. This is what I'm not getting. When the form is opened, that same data connection is fired, the form takes 10 seconds maximum to load and as you say, I am pulling everything at that point, so by my reckoning, pulling it again should take the same amount of time, if not, less. ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by mrsafe on 06-11-2010 Re: Refreshing Data Connection taking very long time. I see your point, and I do use the object model for updating, adding and deleting the list items. I use the DCs for pulling the data when the form opens and when the view changes back to a non editable state. I did this because it was fast. It seems that if I do your suggestion I am not really utilising infopath and I may have well written it as a ... Initially check your data connection and make sure you didn't add your details as the default value when you set it up. This is easy to do as the wizard windows follow each other and are very similar. Try that before I go into a major ramble! Cheers Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by mrsafe on 06-08-2010 Re: Limit how many forms can be submitted to form library Hi, There are a large number of ways to do this, the easiest probably being to to add a data connection recieving data from the list the form is hosted on and then adding a rule in the open and save rules section to switch views: The following is off the top of head so apologies if not totally correct. 1) Create new view, design tasks, ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by mrsafe on 06-08-2010 Re: Submit data then link to a new page We try to avoid the page viewer web part instead opting for manipulation of the source attribute in the query string in the URL. This way you can go to any page you like including a thank you page. Another option is to use SPUtil object to a) Redirect and b) send an email. For point 2, again we would simply extract the comment field and dump it ... Posted to Browser Forms (Forum) by mrsafe on 06-08-2010 Refreshing Data Connection taking very long time. Hi Guys, I have a vlarge browser based form that connects via code to several sharepoint lists. The form is divided into sections each section being list driven and subsequntly driven by a dataconnection. I have one data connection which admittedly is the largest that takes ten minutes to complete using a browser located on a web front end ... If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort this script? This issue is common when there is a lot of data to pull back from dataconnection and particularly if theres filtering on a large dataset. You'll probably find that using Firefox doesn't have this issue. Looking at your issue, it seems as if you have a straight dataset to pull from a dataconnection, unless there is some sort of validation ...
