if Item "#" is blank
where # is any number. I have 30 items, most will usually be blank and I dont want them showing up. however the way the list is structured on ishare, it is one big row with 120 icolumns, so I cant just do a single category, and I dont want to put a rule on 120 ...

I figured out by clearing the ID field after submitting via a Submit button that I added, not the Ribbon's Submit button which I deactivated it.
This company has severely limited my ability to do what I want with InfoPath, meaning can't do any codings so have to deal with OOB stuff.

Thank you for the clarification. Yes, I would agree that re-creating the formulas on the fields would be tedious work. Since IDs are generated after, what I would I suggest at this point is generating your own unique ID on a hidden field. Something like concat(userName(), translate(now(), "T:-", "")). After thinking about this over the weekend I realized where my mistake was..
I had the calculation fields outside of the repeating table. Once I added those fields( CostRam, CostDisk, etc) to the repeating table everything worked as it should. :)
