Hi William,
So, you created an InfoPath form from Access - is that correct? Did the process create a view for you or did you have to put your view together from scratch? I'm guessing the former.
You should be able to modify the XSN that was created as part of the Access import process, but the view will be difficult to modify since ...

Hi TechPundit,
Can you push the Access DB to a SharePoint or SQL server and query from there? If so, that gives you a networked solution which would allow more people to query it dynamically. If you don't care about decentralizing access to the InfoPath form and only use InfoPath for a local laptop solution (for example) you could set up some ...

Hi Claus,
Well, if it worked fine until yesterday, and the InfoPath form didn't change, it isn't a problem with InfoPath. My guess is that SharePoint changed in some way. check out the logs on your SharePoint site. Make sure you have a license that hasn't expired, etc.
Good luck slaying the SharePoint dragon,

Hi BlueBen,
InfoPath 2007 ships with a people picker control. Have you tried using that? It should be based on Outlook's Global Address List (GAL) and not require SharePoint.
If the out-of-box people picker doesn't work for you (because you need to select multiple people, etc.), you may want to look at Qdabra's Zero-ActiveX Contact ...

Hi AT,
You don't need code to add a dropdown to your form that looks up data from a SharePoint list or library. Just add a data connection and specify SharePoint. You can also add a data connection that populates a dropdown from a database but Web Services are a best practice for querying databases since the default functionality doesn't ...

Hi Jaekou and welcome,
This error suggests that you have code in your form that was relying on this secondary data source. Please verify that you haven't added code. If you have, try removing it. If you didn't write code, I'd say export the source files and take a look at the manifest.xsf for references to the deleted data ...

Hi Jim,
I would convert your data connection into a UDC and modify that when you create your new site. Then, it should work without the need to republish your form. You could try to use relative paths too, but I think there are roundtrip issues in IP2010. Anyway, best practice is to use UDCs.

Well, that is VSTA. There is no support for InfoPath projects in Visual Studio 2010, so you'll want to stick with 2008 or 2005 for now. We use 2008 here.

I've never heard of that. Sounds like a SharePoint authentication issue. Are you using browser forms or is this rich client?

Hi Jenfi,
Have you tried to ask Alec about this on his site? You probably need to modify your xpath to use current() or preceding-sibling. Try searching for those here. We have several blogs and posts about these two techniques.
We also provide qRules to solve this and many other common problems. qRules is a plug-in that you inject into your ...
