This should be easy to do. You can convert strings to numbers using the number() function. In addition, you can sum a column using the sum() function.
So, to extract the total of a column, just use sum(field) where field is the column in the repeating group or section.

I am looking for a way to subtract the total of a column using a formula.
The formula for which I need to subtract the time from is as follows using another text input field.

Or better yet, use this formula instead:
substring(TimeField, 1, 2) * 3600 + substring(TimeField, 4, 2) * 60 + substring(TimeField, 7, 2)

The formula below extracts the minutes section from the TimeField and then multiplies it to 60. After the minutes portion of the TimeField has been converted to seconds, I then extracted the seconds portion and simply added it to the previous data.

I don't believe this is supported in the browser. If you'd like it to use the print view, you can print to PDF - free CutePDF Writer will do this, but you will have to configure the print settings by pressing CTRL + P then select CutePDF Writer in order to convert the view to PDF.

Hi rayzermatic,
This seems to be the default position for Fields, Rules, and even the Design Checker. If it does have any settings for that, it should be located under the Data tab where Show Fields is also located - I haven't seen any settings that would allow me to permanently transfer it to the left pane though.
