Can you add logic that checks for the required fields prior to submit? That is, don't let them try to submit as long as these required fields are blank - is that an option?

I can't think of a thing that will get you around this kind of user behavior.... if approvals are in the form. Have you thought about using an approval workflow instead? Something outside of the form? Or do they have to be able to make changes to the form data as part of the ...

Okay, I was just pulling the value wrong in the workflow code. I was using:
tskCreate.TaskProperties.ExtendedProperties["prop"]
I should have been using
onTaskChanged_AfterProperties1.ExtendedProperties["txtField"]
Since the Submit was sending the form data back to the workflow code; I set my hidden field to 1, ...

After publishing the InfoPath form to a new SharePoint library go into the SharePoint Form Library list settings. Add two new columns for each Person Picker you want to filter on using the [Me] function.
