Hi Angelspire and sorry for the delay over the holidays,
First of all, good to see that you are moving towards a data-driven form for your values. This is definitely the paradigm to follow for surveys. We have done numerous surveys in this fashion and even have a couple recent blog posts on two starter techniques for this:

Hi LBellows,
Sorry for the delay. Somehow we missed this over the holidays.
The key thing is to make sure the content model (i.e. the data source or schema) for the two forms is compatible. If the schema for v1 and v2 are compatible, you can just publish your new form to SharePoint. Hopefully you are using a Content Type (instead of just a Form ...

The GetAttachmentAttribute is not related to SharePoint. It's related to the meta-properties belonging to the attachment as stored in the InfoPath form. You can use it to get your attachment's name, size, etc. Here's one blog on it: ...

Hi Elon2000,
We don't have specific instructions on this since it's just out-of-box functionality of InfoPath.
First go to Tools->Data Connections and add two data connections - one for SharePoint Library Submit and another for Email Submit
