    Hi:

There are some limits on code that will work in browser forms, but forms with code can be opened in the browser -- you need to save the form as browser compatible and  publish as an admin approved template.

Thank you for answering me. I was looking to find a documentation where this would be specified, what i can run. Curently I don't have permission to get into Central Administration. I need to run System.Net.Dns.GetHostName(); code.

I think if you can have your form admin approved, that code should run in the browser. But you will need someone with access to Central Admin to deploy your published form. Here's a blog post that may help you with those steps.

Thank you for all the instructions. I managed to publish form and open it in browser, but as i was expecting .. the Local IP and Computer Name is always Servers .. no mather who the client is. Do you have any more suggestions what else i should try. Thank you.

Oh, of course! I hadn't thought of that. I'm afraid I don't know how you would get the IP for the user who opened the browser form..... I'm forwarding a link to your post to Jimmy Rishe (also of Qdabra), in case he may have an idea...

Re: Get local IP of client computer

The browser-based form executes in the context of the server so the only way to get the IP is to write some code that executes on render to ask IE for the IP address of the local computer. Not sure that is going to be very easy, if it is even possible. Certainly, web sites do this, so there's got to be some code out there. The issue is having the InfoPath Form Services execute it. Probably doable but requires some investigation.
