InfoPath has built-in Upgrade features. If you use the InfoPath designer to develop your data source (schema), etc, it will even account for fields that have been added, etc.
If for some reason the default upgrade.xsl doesn't do it, you can always write your own.

Secondary data sources are second-class citizens in InfoPath... there are lots of things you can't do with them. Master/Detail is one of those things...
I haven't evaluated alternatives to make this work with a secondary data source, and am not positive it can work.

Is this related to a specific form or does it happen with any form? If a specific form is causing the problem, then you should disect your form.

I'm not a VB person so I might have some issues with my code changes... but the concept I was trying to put across is that when you are working with repeating tables/sections you need to get fields relative to the one in the current row... not go all the way back to the top and work down -- that just brings you back to the first item.

In what sense do you use the switch view? To manually switch to the print view somehow? Print views should be automatic. If you just use it for the user to switch between editing views, there should be no issue.
Try createing a new blank form with 2 views, set one as the print view and do a print preview from the editing view. If this works, then ...

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of a way to do that. Someone may wish to prove me wrong.

If you go the the properties dialog for your editable views, you can select which view is used as a print view. Perhaps you have already done this. If not, InfoPath does not understand which view you want to use as a print view until you specify it in the properties dialog.
