Have you tried a rich text box?
qRules has a function for getting those values into your form. qRules is a code plugin but doesn't reqire compilation or developers to use.

Hi B1rds,
You need to use the current() function to do this and not an absolute xpath. Search this forum for "xpath current" to find examples.

Hi Kalyan,
InfoPath doesn't wrap text around images like Word does. You might be able to use calculated values to display a portion of a plain text field in two segments using substring, but that won't work for rich text and doesn't allow editing. You can add the image to the same control but then you won't be able to separate it ...

Hi Brian,
It's because of the inexact version of HTML (InfoPath) to MHTML (what's used in Outlook). The Web mail form is probably just using HTML. There were numerous HTML to MHTML conversion issues back in 2003 when I worked on it and not all of these were not fixed in 2007 or 2010. My suggestion would be to play with the tables. Maybe ...

Hi Lyndsey,
Qdabra Software has an XLS to XML tool that converts spreadsheets into XML. You have to have an InfoPath form template, but the data can be converted automatically. Works well in cases where you have lots of data.

We recommend using a Web service to do this. In fact, we developed DBXL back in 2005 ...

We have heard nothing from MS on this. My guess is that there will be no fix because you can install both VS 2008 and 2010. In other words, there is a workaround.

There are xpath functions for today() and now().
Go to Tools->Form Options->General and add a rule on open that checks those values in it's condition.

We aren't moving to VS 2010 for InfoPath. Some developers have both installed though.

Hi Kris,
I think you just need some simple conditional formatting. Make sure the "other nine fields" are in a separate section. Then, you can control whether the section is hidden or not usign the value from field 1. Pretty easy but I'm wondering if I understand exactly what you are trying to do. Dropdowns and fields are different. ...
