• Re: Difficulty Receiving Data - doc library

If you want your workflow to be able to manipulate the field, then simply check the box during publishing that says "allow this field to be edited in SharePoint." That's what I do whenever I need my workflow to be able to edit a field in the form. It actually edits the field in SharePoint, which then syncs with the form ...

  • Re: Difficulty Receiving Data - doc library

Did you add it to the SP library or to the form and then promote it to the library? Just adding a column to the form library will not make it show up in the form. I recommend creating the field in the form template, set your default value in the form, promote the field, and then go from there.

  • Re: Publishing a Form to a different MOSS server

Well, whenever you build an InfoPath form in Visual Studio, you have to package it and deploy it, so I imagine you can do it with a regular form, but I don't know the steps. I still needs to be published so that the template knows its references and so that it can be uploaded to Central Admin - can't upload templates that weren't ...

  • re: Automatically Populate Fields from a Drop-Down Selection

Jason and Padraig, it works if you build it properly. You have to set the field's default value and reference the SharePoint node that you want it to populate it with and apply a filter that sets the SP field to the field bound to your dropdown. When you do it within a repeating table like that, it adds the current() function so that ...

  • Re: Publishing a Form to a different MOSS server

Well, InfoPath is a Microsoft Office client - it's not a development tool, per se. If Office is not allowed in a production environment, then you have much bigger issues than deployment, hah. As for coded application, that's easy - you just package it into a solution and send it to the farm admin who deploys it in Central ...

  • Re: Displaying results returned from a webservice

No, don't create fields to display the data. Just drag the repeating group from the dataFields portion of your web service to the canvas and let it auto-create a repeating table. This table will display your data automatically.

Then you need to move it to a machine in that domain and publish from there.

  • Re: AD in Forms Services

Yeah, it's easy to get the manager and the manager's manager, but if you really have some very complicated deep queries you're doing, then maybe you need the code. Since the folks at Qdabra have their own Active Directory Web Service (again, far better to use a web service than direct code) that they sell and is very effective, I ...

  • Re: Another cascading drop down lists question

I can't get a control like that to work, because it doesn't have a data connection. It's just a repeating field where you add new items manually. The best I can do is a plain list box that shows them all with no bullets or numbers, but it isn't a dropdown. If you know how to iterate through the multiple items and ...

  • Re: Creating multiple-condition rules for option buttons

You can set the default value as Unknown, and then when option buttons are selected, fire a rule that sets it to No if not all buttons are selected and it's not already set to No, but set it to Yes if all buttons are selected and it's not already set to Yes. Each button would have the same rules.
