Hi,

I have written a webservice that takes 3 values and returns results form a database. Testing the webservice via the browser it returns the values I would expect.

I have created a data connection to retrieve data in Infopath and set up the required fields for the query and the results and have set up rules on a button to trigger the query.

Using Fiddler, I can see that on clicking the button the values are passed to the webservice and the values are being returned, however I can' t seem to getthe results to display on the form. I have tried creating fields and then inserting them as repeating section/table and adding rules to populated the from the button. I have also tried creating a repeating section from the secondary data source but nothing seems to work.

Can anuone please point me in the right direction? :-S

No, don't create fields to display the data.  Just drag the repeating group from the dataFields portion of your web service to the canvas and let it auto-create a repeating table.  This table will display your data automatically.

Hi, I have already tried this as well although I did it by right clicking on the group and selecting 'repeating table'. Does this do this same thing? If so that didn't work either.

When I preview the form, I can see the header and one blank line of the table, when I click the button to run the query it leaves the header and removes the blank row nothing else displays.

Solved this issue! :-)

The returning dataset in the web service was defined as 'Table 1' so infopath was looking for Table_x0020_ 1 and therefore not matching everything up.

Interestingly I only got a error that was of any use at all when I started from scratch and created a form from the 'webservice' template.
