Ok so here is a follow up, I found out through trial and error that to write from the form you have to submit the form to a SharePoint library and not to a SharePoint list. But the proble i have now is that its being submitted as a form and not to the columns I've made in the libriary.

 Hey Reema actually we use InfoPath 2010 here at my work so I'm unable to open the file. Could you post the code in notepad or show me a 2010 version? Thanks!!

I'm responding to this as one of our users hit this issue today. The rest of us can load the form up from the sharepoint list just fine... she got the error message. tried the "move the mouse off the infopath window" trick, and Voila, it worked. I've got her checking a couple of things for me to see if we can't track ...
