• Re: Dynamic text and page breaks for Printing

Just reporting some workarounds: To use dynamic data in your ''header'', go to Format -> View Properties -> Page Setup and set your top margin to a little less (I set mine to .4 inches). Then you can make your own ''header'' by simply typing near the top of the page and/or inserting controls. Here's how I plan to work around my problems ...

  • Re: Query a Web Service with Jscript

I agree with how the rules situation can make things ''hidden'' a lot of times. I think Microsoft should implement some kind of ''Rules Task Pane'' where you can see all of the rules throughout the current view in one consolidated section. The same could be said about default value formulas. In Excel a seperate ''rules'' or ''formulas'' panel ...

  • Dynamic text and page breaks for Printing

Ok, here's what I'm faced with. I need to create a print view to display relevant data based on input to my form. I have most of this print view done, except for one section. On this section, there will be rows in a table based on what the customer has bought. However, to make things look professional the rows are not allowed to be ''split'' ...

  • Re: Inheritance

Hmmm, good question. Never done this, but give this a try: 1) For cross-form script sharing you'll have to ''Export form files...'' on your first form with the script and leave it in an unpackaged form. If you open the the folder that you exported the files to there will be a ''script.js''. After you have Exported the files on your other forms, ...

  • Re: Check Boxes

With 175 checkboxes it sounds like your form is going to be bulky regardless. What do you mean by ''3rd party checkboxes'' ? --------------- Matt Faus

  • Re: Custom import

Well, I'm making my way (rather slowly) through the SDK and I did find an example form that is much more helpful. I have gotten a few steps to work, such as actually recognizing that I have a custom XSL file and use it when the merge form request has the same namespace as the schema file I have set to undergo the XSL tranformation. I have been ...

  • Custom import

Does anyone know where a really good custom import tutorial is? I have found some that are pretty vague, and some that help you translate XML into XHTML, but I need to know how to import an XML into my XML InfoPath document. Thanks for any help! (Maybe Patrick/Greg will write one for the How-To section?) --------------- Matt Faus

  • Re: display name / value

Thanks for the advice. I wound up adding another column to my repeating table. The drop-down displayed the ''Display Name'' and held the ''value'' and the hidden textbox field simply held the ''Display Name''. --------------- Matt Faus

  • Pop-up messages

Does anyone else think those pop-up messages that say the name of the field or say stuff like ''Control stores duplicate data'' are ANNOYING? I was trying to format a table today and they kep getting in the way and making me not be able to see what I was doing. MS should either put a little delay (like a tooltip delay) or SOMETHING, because ...
