    Inheritance

Does anyone know if I can actually isolate the script file within the form template and reference it externally? I am trying to have several forms accessing the same script file which all uses the same code, which in turn eases maintenance.

On a similar topic, I have several forms containing the exact same default section (Employee details) and with other form designs on the same view. Is there a way to inherit this default section from an external view file rather than inserting it each time I design a new form? I am hoping to maintain this default section in a single location so that a slight change on this section is reflected throughout all of my forms. Please help!

Hmmm, good question. Never done this, but give this a try:

    1) For cross-form script sharing you'll have to "Export form files..." on your first form with the script and leave it in an unpackaged form. If you open the the folder that you exported the files to there will be a "script.js". After you have Exported the files on your other forms, and deleted their script.js, add it back into each form as a resource file linking from the master copy. On the last page of the form with it asks "Would you like to include this file in the form so people not attached to the network can use it?" click No.

    2) You can probably do the shared-view thing in a very simliar way, but it's going to take some heavy .xsf hacking.

    Hope this works!
