Hi LailaH,
I've never seen this feature but I heard about it when we were reviewing InfoPath 2007 at Microsoft in 2005 and 2006. Before you do the steps, are you replacing the XTP with the latest version as described in the first paragraph? Make sure the version number changes when you do this - otherwise it won't sense any change. ...

Here's a random idea. Go to default data and fill in values for the optional section. In other words, give it one section that defaults. You can still hide the section using conditional formatting. My hunch is that it's not working because it doesn't have any XML fragment data to begin with.

Hi Colin,
Go into File->Advanced Options and Compatibility. Change to be a Web Browser 2010 form. Go to Security and make sure it's set to Auto (defautls to Domain). Go to File->Design Checker and make sure there are no compatibility issues and if there are you'll have to fix them. Best of luck!

Easiest approach is to use qRules SubmitToSharePointList, but that requires installing the free trial and later making the inexpensive purchase of the tool. Configuration is still required, but it can be done in 5-10 minutes. I demo this once every other week or so for people. It's data-driven so easy to update as your form changes with ...

Hi Andrew,
We use SQL here and not Access. But for both, to do a parameterized query requires code. That's why we developed our DBXL Web service back in 2004 - to help people integrate their forms with SharePoint and SQL. Free trial and it's cheap.
But, you could also write the code yourself and give it the correct permissions (full ...

Very strange. Might be a bug in the schema inference when the Web service was created. You should try removing and readding it. Make sure the Web service actually returns a valid date in the WSDL.
You can also use qRules FormatDate command and add a rule to your datepicker that invokes it and then sets the value of a string field with the result. ...

Did you select relative or centrally managed? The latter requiers admin approval. Check that first. If that is relative it could be because the UDCx file and data connection library are located on a different site (cross-site permissions require full trust).

Hi aszia787,
We do this all the time with qRules and the xpath functions for preceding-sibling or current. Lots of posts on this type of thing. Your code could have a bug, but the biggest issue with coding this is that it hardcodes a dependency to your data source. So, if your data source changes, you have to recompile. qRules doesn't do ...

Hi Chintan,
The time that is set is based on the machine. If the machine time is PST, it's easy to subtract 3 hours to get EST. If your machine times are all different, you will need to write code to access the GMT+0 time and add 5 hours (or whatever it is). We can probably add this to qRules, and you know it might be a good idea. I'll ...

Hi Joanne,
if you are trying to shade based on data that changes, just add a secondary data source to your form and use that in your CF.
if you are trying to conditionally change the color of the shading, that can also be done by adding all possible variations into your form and show-hiding based on the data.
might not be as hard as you think ...
