Hi Ron,
Great to see you're diving head first into data-driven design. We do teach a 3-4 hour course on this that covers:
Auto-populating forms from default data
Creating config files to hold your default data
Iteratively copying data from config files into repeating groups
Replacing view-only data with calculated values ...

Hi Plighty,
You can use the Filter command to get this. Add a calculated value (in 2007 this was called the expression box) to your form and insert a field for it. The field is the DisplayName row in your repeating group filtered where the GroupId (in the same secondary data source) equals a value in your main data source.

Looks like this may be difficult to do without a Web service that we can call to return GMT. We'll investigate more.

Obviously, #1 won't work because it's a browser based form.
Bottom line: XML caching doesn't work so well and why should you care? You have a browser based form dude! So, it's going to be online all the time. No caching required. Remove caching from the data connection config and be happy. Life is short...

Hi Sz56MS,
qRules can do this without code. you are thinking -- no no no, I don't want a third-party plug-in, I want to write code cuz I'm a VB developer and I deserve to do C#....

Hi Catharine,
Are you using a page break to force them to be one page? I'm guessing you are.
If they are longer, you will have to use some fancy-schmancy pagination logic in your form to come to grips with the lack of printing smarts in InfoPath. Matt Faus had a blog post on this back in the day. Good luck is all I can say. Definitely not ...

Hi Newbie,
Yes, yes, yes! You can create a SharePoint workflow that emails someone based on a value in the form. You may have to use SharePoint Designer to configure it. Hopefully, you have that. At any rate, you'll want to configure the workflow to work when a form is added or modified - you decide. Probably the latter. Then, you'll need ...

Hi Putnamsam!
I'm guessing that you have a SharePoint list with usernames in it and that you have a data connection that loads that list on open. Make sure the data connection is set to load on open.
Do you set the username to a field on your data source or are you just using the username function in your rule?
To debug ...

Hi Kyler? Is kkmick you?
Welcome to InfoPathDev!
You probably have an InfoPath caching issue on that computer. Do this:
Click Windows Start icon
Type in InfoPath - you'll get a Getting Started dialog in IP2007
Select the form you were working on and click Remove This Form in the right hand panel
Close the dialog and any ...
