clear dropdown cache - browser based form

I'm experiencing a wierd caching problem with a dropdown using an xml data source on my form.

I updated the xml data file and created the data connection the dropdown continues to show an old value as the first value which no longer exists

when i select a new value the cached value disappears but there is no roundtrip etc

Solutions that I've tried but with no use:

    1) Start > Run > Infopath /cache clearall

    2) Removed all resource files that were created for the connection and made sure that there is one and only one that is up-to-date

    3) Removed and recreated the data connection from scratch

I've no idea how to fix this

Obviously, #1 won't work because it's a browser based form.

Bottom line: XML caching doesn't work so well and why should you care? You have a browser based form dude! So, it's going to be online all the time. No caching required. Remove caching from the data connection config and be happy. Life is short...
