What field contains "the person to approve" and what data is saved for that person? Is Email required? Is the correct field "E-Mail" where you need the validation rule?

For the email field you can add a validation rule. See attached screenshot. For the Registration Completed - I'd put the text and checkbox in a section and use conditional formatting to hide it. I'd probably use a Status field for this - blank to start with, set to "Submitted" when the form is submitted, then you can only display ...

Because you've set the field to an invalid option for the choices available. You really need to use an additional field for this - leave the field bound to the dropdown alone and set your new field on submit - promote the new field. Edited to add: I forgot you are concerned about emailing - if you intend to reset the State 1 value, you need to ...

You've got it. :) And if you set the controls width property to 100% they will continue to fill the cell even if you make a column wider or narrower.

When you publish the form to the library, include the Year field as a promoted property. Then, add a secondary data connection to the same library that your form is published to - make sure to deselect the checkbox that automatically loads data when the form is opened - you don't need data till you get ready to submit your form. As part of ...

However, I understand that sometimes business requirements aren't as flexible as one would like! I'd probably promote the year to the library you submit to (assuming the form submits to SharePoint?) and then you can set the year query ...

I'd either use a specific email view or a little conditional formatting for this. If this is a browser form, using a specific email view is simplest. Just create a new view, and use a calculated value for the dropdown field (which will contain the value). When the form submits, switch to the email view first, then submit. If this is not a ...

Are you using a list form? Or a library form? List forms don't support repeating structures in the main data source (with some minor exceptions). With a library form, you can promote the repeating field as merged when you publish, so that all the data shows in the library as well. Here's a simple sample of what I mean - save the linked ...

This is a list form, right? So - yeah, if you have a dropdown in a list form, I think you end up with a Choices data connection that you can't change.... I'm guessing that if you have a lookup in the list form, the data connection might have the name of the lookup in it.... but I'm not sure.
