Hi! I'm sorry to tell you - but no. If you disable a drop down, it becomes hard to read. Can you just use a calculated value in that view instead?

I was wondering - since this post is almost 7 years old, is there any new ways on how to do this? I have a similar problem as the original post - i have an InfoPath form in which a certain view i want to have a dropdown list "read only", but i do not want it to turn grey. Other than your suggestions from years ago, is there a way to do ...

Hi again. Yes, I have that posting of for check in and out, but I believe I had problems getting it to execute properly in my project form.
Eventually we will need to also know not only that the form is open, but who has it open. The goal is to have this all within InfoPath logic. My primary form I will be up to 5 data ...

Hi again - so this property doesn't get set in browser forms, unfortunately. I know when we first worked on making qRules browser compatible, this was something we investigated - and it appears that InfoPath Forms Services doesn't actually set that property in the object model when the form is opened in the browser. Everything is working as expected, and all affected ...

Great news, I'm glad you have it working. One thing - if you haven't tried it in the browser yet, be sure to set postback to always on any buttons / controls that execute qRules commands (under the control properties, under the browser tab).

Thank you for all your help! I have a working prototype. that meets all my needs for this project. :)

There isn't anything in qRules that I can think of that would do this. InfoPath and Excel are two very different creatures. I don't think you could create a custom control for this for a browser form.... maybe? I wonder about using Excel Services as a REST connection and sending this as a value to a spreadsheet - if Excel REST would return ...

So, when I talk about the form needing to have a repeating schema to be able to manage multiple items, I mean you need to start from InfoPath, select SharePoint list form, select your existing list, and then check the box that indicates you'll be managing multiple items in the form. I've attached a screenshot that shows your form's ...
