Alright Ed, we got get through this eventually right? :)
Have you tried doing this without code and just through the rules setup? I think what I described last should work for you. The code above adds one space to your entry but would not work for shorter entries. You would either need logic for each of the 4 scenarios and copy ...

This is more complex since you would need a routine outside of Infopath on the server which would open InfoPath and perform this update.
I would look at setting up a write to SharePoint from InfoPath. So that instead of adding the item within SharePoint. Open the InfoPath form and add it and then save it back to the SharePoint list. I think ...

Typical practice is to use a submit data connection. The save and save as functionis, if you allow them, do not have any control over them and are for the user to create their own copy, which usually I do not allow any way.
When you create a submit connection then you can set the location and the filenaming convention within it so the ...

Hi Mike.
From the look of your tables Contacts would actually be the main table since Project looks like a child of contacts and should have a key relationship via the Project ID.
Is this a database type form? Where it creates the query and data fields for you? Is this using Access or SQL? Have you looked at the Database ...

Hi Fred, welcome to the forum.
I am with you with number 1.
For number 2, you would want to have a seperate view but it still should be your InfoPath form. There is no easy way to transition or manufacture a word or excel file easily from InfoPath, but you can replicate either one with a InfoPath form. You can replicate almost any word layout ...

Two things.
The default submit can only have one data connection or routine associated with it. You need to have each of your buttons a rules button not submit. Then have one of the rules submit the proper connection.
You can use logic for the email. Typically you would have a field with the email the user chooses and the field value would ...

Hi Dan
Welcome to the wonder and the forum here.
You would need to create the fields you needed in Infopath in the DOM. So a richtext field and what ever else you needed.
You should be able to put the text into the field. I can not remember how to pass the line feeds but I know it can be done.
There are lots of resources here in the ...

That makes it more challenging. Who came up with the account number specification?
You could setup for each scenario and validate against characters rather than digits so you would have 4 rules. You can do the custom pattern with just characters (.)
1 character add 4 spaces
2 characters add 3 spaces
3 characters add 2 spaces
4 characters ...

Hey Ed.
Here is a way to do it.
I think you said before it is either a 5 digit numeric or it is 4 text so I would add a condition to a new rule that says if dropdown field for account number does not equal pattern and then use zipcode, which is 5 numeric digits. This should catch your everything that is not 5 digits.
Then for ...

Ok.
I have done this same thing and published to a library and just had it sit out in SharePoint but use a link on another site for users to access it.
You can link to a template in sharepoint use the URL to the site http://server/site/library/forms/template.xsn
The template is always in the form library /forms/ template.xsn.
Otherwise you ...
