Hi Rahul2011,
This is a duplicate post. Post backs are post backs. They send the entire form back. That's the way the form works. You could disable postbacks for the control and use a button to do a batch postback. You could also write code to DisableUpdates. Why is it bad that it refreshes the form?

Hi Jason,
Yes, just double click the control for the field in the main data source that you want to set and use the fx button to insert the field from the secondary data source. Click the Filter button on the dialog and add a condition that selects the field from the main data source that you want to compare against.
Easy as Pi!

Hi Rahul,
Sorry, but I'm pretty sure that the InfoPath Object Model does not allow for that kind of control.

Hi Shniggens,
Are you using qRules in this form? If so, why not just use the RefreshListItems command? You can constrain it to the row you want to update using rules and current().
Sorry for the delay in responding,

Hi 3steps,
Wow, you spent 4 days on it. You should have just installed our DBXL Web service and you would be up and running in 40 minutes. We developed it back in 2005 because of issues like this with querying XML and also with submitting to SQL. One of the big issues you have with the out-of-box support is that the data is not stored as XML (in ...

Thanks for the post. We will investigate tomorrow.

You'd have to lock the list so that others couldn't submit while you were querying.
That kind of list-lock doesn't exist in SharePoint.
However, you can do a double submit to get the ID of the item. Just submit without close and then query to get the ID. Set the results in your form and submit again. Good as done.

Hi DalugaS,
Your issue shouldn't have anything to do with IIS app pools. qRules is just a plugin.
Data connections for browser forms should be converted to UDC files. Did you do that? Can you connect to a SharePoint Web Service, like GetUserProfileInfo?

In short: ShP list forms are great for very simple <20 field data forms. They don't scale and they shouldn't be used in 75% of your business process forms. For those, you'll want to use InfoPath Form Libraries. Both can be displayed in the browser using SharePoint 2010.
