Usually this error is related to a permissions issue and is generated by a user who has limited permissions to DBXL Document Types or Documents and when Check Out is required in SharePoint. Even after removing the Check Out requirement, you may still get the same error.

Thanks for the additional info. What I expect is the following:
1. You submit a document and it is named in the SharePoint form library as xxx-xxx-xxxx.xml (because your DBXLDocumentService submit data connection sets this as the DBXL::Name). Sounds like this is working correctly.

There are limitations when using forms created based on a SharePoint list, so perhaps you've run into one (User Roles). I haven't specifically tried your scenario using a SharePoint list, however.

Try this:
1. Add a field to your schema and call it "Filename".
2. Add a rule on load to set the filename with the condition "Filename is blank". This means that the filename will only be set on the first submit.
3. The Filename can be set to concat(Name, now()).
