Not doable, but stay tuned. I have heard rumors of an embeddable InfoPath control.

Hi Nik,
Welcome to the board! What is the trust level for your InfoPath form (Tools->FormOptions->Security)?

Hi MReyeros,
I apologize for the delay in responding to you. Yes, you can definitely do this. Just make sure to include the InfoPath PI and other info when you create the XML. Then, you can stream it down to a browser and URLMON will intercept and start up InfoPath to load it. I believe that's what you want, but maybe I'm confused. Anyway, good ...

Hi Mauricio,
Welcome to the board! You'll need to set up a data connection to the Web service for a secondary data source and then use the secondary data to populate the drop down.
In the InfoPath designer,
Double click the drop-down control

Hi Tadhg,
Welcome to the board! Why not just create XML from your command line tool and add the InfoPath Processing Instruction (PI) to the form? Then, you can execute the form and it will load InfoPath and display it. NewFromSolution is detailed in the SDK. Do you have the SDK? If not, it is a total must have.
Hope this helps!

Thanks Elliot! Great to get feedback. I will pass it on to Vani and Matthew. Greg played an important role in this book too as our technical reviewer.
Let me know if you have any questions or find any bugs in the book.

Ciao,

string sGuid = System.Guid.NewGuid().ToString();
and then set it into the ...

Hi Artika,
Perhaps you have an XPath issue. Have you tried replacing your hardcoded xpath with a relative one? I'm not exactly sure, since I can't see your schema.
Hope this helps!
