I want to be able to search our library using the metadata entered into the infopath form.
I have an intern working on it and he is telling me IT IS possible programmatically. If anyone has any code to contribute or suggests or comments, I really appreciate it.
We are creating a file library for drawing scans. I am using sharepoint and infopath ...

Hi Christophe,
Are you using /FT for the Regform tool to make it Full Trust? If you run the MSI and install locally and run it, do you see an error?
Note: the Preview mode doesn't support Full Trust so you need to attach to an already running InfoPath process to debug it (if it's Full Trust URN-based and RegForm generated).

Thanks for your responses,
It is OK to make the link to the dll in VS studio, it works well.
The problem is when I ask for a preview from VS studio and I click the button responsible to open the windows form from the DLL, an infopath windows appears with the following error message :
System.Security.SecurityException
Security error.

'Template' is referring to the .xsn file created by InfoPath. The form file is usually referring to the .xml data file which is linked to the template.
When you publish a form to sharepoint, you are creating a document library. Under the document library will be a Forms/template.xsn file, which is the form template. This form template is ...

Your first question is a deep architectural question. :)
Usually, InfoPath works well with one primary table mapping to the Main data source. Secondary tables can be mapped to secondary data sources. Mapping the main data source to multiple database tables causes problems because of the pivots. Sometimes you ...

Hi,
Can somebody explain me how to create a many to many infopath form ? I have created a form for both two tables, but I'm not sure how to design the form for the table that links the two tables.
Thanks for your advice

My final solution for this issue was to turn off all the available formatting for the rich text box. I then put in data validation using the regular expression .{251,} (limit field to 250 characters). I know this defeats most of the power of a rich text box but at least the field can still expand as needed.
