  • Re: dynamic form

If I may, opening another instance of InfoPath is the last thing that you want to do...trust me on this one! If you find conditional formatting too complex, why don't you look at Views. You can do 1 view for Male and 1 for Female within the same form. You can then put 2 buttons on top of the form (to switch between views), with the captions: ...

Can't you build a separate View in your form that contains these 15 or so fields and print that? Regards, Franck Dauché

  • Generating printable "subform" within infopath

Is it possible to generate a ''subform'' within an infopath form? Basically what I want to do is this: I have an infopath form that gets filled by the appropriate users. Once the form is complete it has a ton of info in it, but there are say 15 fields that are very important. Can I have a button or something on that form that when pushed will ...

Thanks! But, authorization is not the problem here. It is more complicated than password or Windows Authentication. Is there no way to close form when opening it?

I checked out conditional formatting and realized that for what I'm wanting to accomplish, that might be too involved/complicated. I guess ideally what I'd like is: depending on selection from dropdown menu, an entirely independent form is opened. Can anyone help with this?

Hi, You can look into conditionnal formatting. You can build 2 sections on your form. 1 for Male, 1 for Female. Then, you show or hide (through conditionnal formatting) the right section based on the value selected in the drop-down. Regards, Franck Dauché

  • dynamic form

Hey there. I'd like to have a drop down list box, and depending on its selection by the user, I'd like it to open a different form. Or it could simply display different fields. For example, if the drop down menu identifies the person as male or female, I would like to have different fields for men than women. Can anyone help? thanks

  • implementing a browse button

I have created a form that uses the Microsoft Common Dialog Control linked to a button in the form to enable users to browse for a file name to insert into a field of type anyuri. However, not everyone has this control on their machine. Is there one available as part of the basic operating system (i.e. one that does not have to be distributed ...

If you can still not figuring it out after following the advice from Matt, just add a new node in your schema (text) and drop the one that gives you some trouble. Overkill, but works everytime. Regards, Franck Dauché
