    IP address field

    Hello,
I'm developing a form that contains a IP address field. Everytime I input a IP address it gives me an "invalid data" and turns the box red. Does anyone here no a remedy for letting me input a ip address. I have tried many properties settings. Still I can't figure it out.

Just make it a textbox and make sure the data type is "text." It should work just like it is trying to read in a string. Make sure no data validation is linked to the box.

If you can still not figuring it out after following the advice from Matt, just add a new node in your schema (text) and drop the one that gives you some trouble. Overkill, but works everytime.

Hi TruSouthrnPlaya and welcome to our forum!
Open the form in the InfoPath designer and double click on the field that is giving you grief. Check out the validation conditions. If you can't fix from there, do what Franck says and add another binding. You can re-validate the new binding using a regular expression based on IP format.
