My friend, have you even tried setting this up in InfoPath? I think you a are a little confused on how InfoPath treats ''hidden'' controls. If you do it correctly, you will have the same number of DDLs at all times on the form. Because DDL2a has conditional formatting that hides the control when DDL1 is NOT blank and the other hides when it IS ...

Matt,
Thanks for the response...that sounds like an easier method and a perspective that I haven't thought of. Developement can give you a bad case of tunnel vision from time to time. That seems like a better angle of attack. I will look into it and let you know how it goes.
Thanks again

Well, it's not EXACTLY a ''header'', but it looks and performs almost exactly the same. If you just make the top margin of the view you're working in less than default, you can put whatever you want (dynamic/static) at the top of each page (right beneath a page break) and it will look like a header. Or, if you want a page with no header, just put ...

Hi,
There one thing that you can try here,
1. Take regular secondary dataconnection, which gets the data.
2. When you are submitting the form, change command of your dataconnection to insert values into DB. Now query the dataconnection.
See if this works!
3. Other things you can try is to write a stored proc to insert values to DB and set this ...

Hi Matt,
So you can do dynamic data in a header that appears on every page? I thought this was impossible. If you have a solution, you have figured something out that nobody else ever has. Printing the header on the first page is easy, but on every page?
The layout code workaround in JScript is very interesting. In fact, it's so interesting ...

Hi Fred,
IP XML has a diffgram format? Where did you hear that? The property promotion doesn't. But, maybe I'm missing something. Check out the xpath in your manifest.xsf and see what it is *really* promoting. The XSF has a section for the columns promoted to SharePoint and under that section is the xpath and aggregation function (for example, ...

Hi Agni,
I have already deployed my form. It takes the filled out form and saves the document to a sharepoint site, simple. I didnt use dataconnections except for the secondary sql datasources for dropdownlists. Now they added a new requirement that it has to be able to save the form data to SQL. Is there any easy way of doing this without ...
