I think you just have to play with the xpath (check the advanced check box) a little bit to get it to work. It seems like it may be somewhat buggy. Doing it with code is probably the prefered way to make it work the first time, but the wizards should work! It did take me 3 or 4 tries on each field to get it to work. I had to keep playing with ...

Ah - I did not realize you needed to have different data in each of the three tables. It sounded as though you had the same data and just wanted to filter it.
Does your third table need to actually hold data, or just be a visual representation of the data contained in the first two tables?

Karsten, Skully,
I cannot get this to work unfortunately. I am trying to create an MSI and am still getting the 'won't support V8' message. Good thing I still have a machine with only VS 2003 on, but not exactly convenient!
If you have any ideas...

Has anyone came across this article on Microsoft's site?

Has anyone tried it? The Submit from a data connection doesn't ''just work'' for me. I wonder if anyone else has had an ''easy'' experience with it. Check out the article and let me know - maybe I'm overlooking something in ...

Thank you very much. And now one last question.
I need to populate to text fields queried from SQL tables. I have managed to do this adding a Run Query Button, but i need no user intervention. Is there any way to query the table and fill the text box at startup?

I want to populate my Project drop-down listbox based on the clientName selected in the Client drop-down listbox. I have a web service (getProjectsForClient) that's sending back a DataSet.

Your secondary data source will be structured like this:
Items ( group )
-Item (repeating group)
--ID
--Name
--Manager
--Territory
Now, populate the drop-down with the ID as the value and the Name as the display name.
Add a rule to the drop-down that set's a field's value, with an equation like ...

One other thing ... When I have the ''Stop processing when this Rule finished'' unchecked, the View switches but the error appears ''Some rules did not finish processing'' and then the app closes. I assume that's because it's continuing to try and process the second rule, which is Submit.

So, here's what I'm trying:
1) I added a text field for ''OrigDate''. I've hidden it by making the font color and borders white.
2) I added a Rule that sets OrigDate to FormDate if OrigDate is blank. That should happen the first time the form is used.
3) My submit action runs a rule that checks if OrigDate=FormDate. If it does, it switches to ...
