You cannot do this. You must populate the list via a data source. Hardcoded lists cannot be copied like you want. Create a simple XML file with a list of values, and then bind the values of each drop-down to that secondary data source.

I've seen many tips on how to copy ''data'' from one pull-down to another, by the use of binding, but I'm looking for a tip on how to create one pull-down, enter in all choices manually, and then create another pull-down and not copy the resulting choice of the first pull-down, but rather only the LIST of choices the first pull-down had. The problem with Rules is that it does not allow one to set the ''Default'' value of a field. This means that the affected field will only update when the drop down has been changed. If the formula however requires a number of other fields to be involved - anytime the other fields change - ...

Unfortunately, the only way I know of to sort things in InfoPath is via code. There is a sample InfoPath form that has this code in it and it is very easy to adapt to your own solution. If you're looking for a C#.NET example, I can provide that.
Anyway, I don't know which solution it is, but I'll ask the team and ...

Hi DotMond and welcome to the forum!
Depending on what language you're using the main DOM can be accessed like this:
JScript:
XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode( ''Insert_XPath'' );
C#
thisXDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode( ''Insert_XPath'' );
(Sorry, I don't know VB or VBScript)
