Even though I see you already got an answer, the thing that worked for me was to setup a retrieve data connection from my forms library on my ID field. I then set a text field to do a count on the ID field and add 6000 to it. This gave me a starting number of 6000 and it increments automatically every time. Just an idea of another method.

OK, I would think this to be a simple thing but I have been working on
it for 4 days with no success. First let me state that I am not a
developer and am somewhat new to Infopath so sadly any instructions would need to be in sysadmin terms but I would much appreciate any assistance I can get.
What I have is an Infopath 2003 form that submits ...

Is it possible to make multiple selections within a lists box. the scenario i have is that i have a data source within sharepoint structured as below.
Col 1 Col 2 Col 3

Is is part of infopath functionality or am i doing something wrong? I cant seem to see any columns from a sharepoint library that are calculated. I have a Field that simply concatenates [Title] and [Today] yet i cant see it. I have run a few tests and all columns are seen when creating the data connection apart from those based on a calculation.

My suggestion here would be to create an XML file that has all of the nodes as blank and then add this as a secondary data source. When you want to clear all of the fields simply select the root node of the 2DS and the parent of the root node in the main dom and do parent.replaceChild( newChild, oldChild ).
I hope this helps, there is a little ...

Hi Marcellino,
I got your email and I think I understand what you are trying to accomplish. However, not having enough information, I can not tell why your code is not working. Maybe you can rename your source file and resend it.
Ok i do it ..

You should be able to follow the Hierarchical tutorial. A uniqueness filter is not necessary. You don't have a /value attribute in your datasource, when the tutorial asks to select msc_kit_list/cpe_family/value just choose msc_kit_list/cpe_family. Make sure to differentiate between nodes in your secondary datasource and fields in your main ...

I'm trying to do the same thing as 10pitus82. I tried your suggestion of getting the XML structure from sampledata.xml, but I can't figure out how to open the file in C# code.
The only function I can find to import a file is the XDocument.ImportFile() function.
And the only function I can find to create a new XDocument is the CreateDOM() ...
