Drag the data nodes from your secondary data connection on your second list onto your form so that you can see what data is returned. You won't want any filtering on your dropdown with this method - in theory, you should be returning "pre-filtered" data from you list. If you would like me to take a look at your form, just attach it ...

It is trying to load something from the 2010 version of Office. You may want to run the installer for Office 2007 again, and select the option for adding features (sorry, I'm sure I'm not explaining this well, it has been awhile) and then make VSTA not available. Restart after, then walk throug again to make VSTA available - here's ...

Hey, Derek - IP versions don't co-exist well, as you found. I keep my different versions on different virtual machines. I'd repair Office 2007 at this point if it were my machine. You've uninstalled IP 2010, right? I'd definitely restart my machine before repairing Office 2007 as well.

You can add nodes to the root node on a DB bound form. So right click the highest group in your form's data source, and you shoudl be able to add.

I sent you an email asking you to email me your code, since I can't read it in a big block like this (sometimes it can be hard to get it to copy & paste nicely). You should also try running your project in debug to see the lines you are failing on. Here's a blog post on how to do that if you need help, okay?

Well, if your form is database bound (which I'm assuming it is - unless you are using a different approach to submit the data to a DB?) there will be data validation on those currency and date fields based on the data type in the database - which, in my opinion, is a good thing.
Rather than mix data types, why not have an additional field for ...

Sounds like InfoPath just wasn't listening to you! Thanks for taking the time to post tho - this will give someone else a good idea to try in the future.

So, your instinct to change to full trust was correct, since you were getting a security exception. But I don't think the code from this sample will require full trust on publication - does your machine belong to a domain? Sometimes that causes issues with domain trust in preview (if you don't belong to a domain).
What's the code on ...

The saved XML for your form have processing instructions in them. I'm not sure (and you should experiment in a test library) but I wonder if just relinking the XML in SharePoint after changing the library to use the content type would work?
If not, the XML in the library may need to have its processing instructions changed manually - how many ...

Don't be hard on yourself - consider it a learning experience. But copy / paste is our friend. :-}
