Hi,
I dont know a direct way of creating XML files from excel sheet. But it is not that hard to write a tool that generates XML files from spreadsheet data.

Hi Edove,
You can add a button called ''Refresh'' and add a rule to it to refresh the data connection.
Just look at the functionality available in the button rules and you will get to know how to do it.

The selectSingleNode() is not working because your XPath is incorrect -- specifically, the namespaces are not accurate. Also, GUID is an element and not an attribute.
Try this:
XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields/tns:XUmmeldProcessRequest/tns:DocumentPrefs/tns:GUID'').text = Math.random()*1000;

I know that you can import data from a spreadsheet into a list. That's fine. But is there anyway to populate an infopath based list the same way?? If not, then how are companies supposed to migrate ...

Well, I was just trying to test them, so I have the xml files in the same folder as the created folder that infopath creates.
Would it be very difficult to change all the information into a database or sharepoint? Or should I just leave it as an xml, and have someone update that when it needs to be updated?
