Posted to Qdabra qRules (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 09-15-2011 Re: Basic Infopath question Welcome! Well, if your Form 1 has promoted properties and the "Name" field is promoted, you could probably use a data connection to the first form library in Form 2 to get back data from the promoted properties. If, instead, what you mean is that you will be opening Form 2 from Form 1 and want to pass a value from one to the other, ... If you can't open in design mode, you could change the file extension of the xsn to CAB. Open the CAB and copy all the files out to a new folder. You try removing the references to the view from the manifest and see if it will open then.... open ... Hi - if your form was based off an existing schema, unlocking is challenging, and my blog post on IP 2007 would still be relevant. It may be easier to simply add the fields to the schema via text editor (again after saving as source files). If your form is bound to a database or a web service, the scenario is a bit different. How many fields do ... What happens if you try to design a form using the same data source on the SBS machine? What is the published location of the form that you are opening it from? Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 09-09-2011 Re: Filling Option Buttons from a data source? Hi - Okay, I think what you are saying is that you currently have your form working correctly - you run your query and data is returned, and your rules are populating fields correctly. However, none of your option buttons are being set. Is the data being returned that is being used to set your field bound to your option control valid? That is, if ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 09-08-2011 Re: Infopath 2007: How to lookup sharepoint webservice to bring back employee name This blog post has some basics on using the UserProfileService. Instead of having the query run on load when you create the data connection, you could display the query field from the data source, and the manager could enter the employee's account ID - you'd need to add a rule to run the query at that point, then you'd be able to ... Posted to Newbie Questions (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 09-08-2011 Re: Popup error messages not displaying on data validation So, the asterisk that is showing - that is considered an error. But since the SONumber field is not being changed, your validation message is not popping up. If what you'd like to do is have that validation error display when the Submit button is clicked you could do something with rules for your submit (instead of submitting directly to a ... Posted to General (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 09-08-2011 Re: change made to SQL Database You shouldn't have to recreate your form (depending on how dramatic the change was, of course) but you'll need to walk through the data connection wizard again for your Main data connection. Open the data connection dialog, and select your main data connection, then click modify and walk through the data connection again. Posted to Data Connections (Forum) by Hilary Stoupa on 09-07-2011 Re: adding a people picker field Okay - here's the trick to submit data to that type. Your data needs to look like: -1;#JDoe That is, a minus1, a semicolon, a pound sign, then the user account id. So, you may want to add another field for this, and map the new field instead - then either use rules or a default value to set the field. Or, of course, you can change your ...
