I need to connect an infopath form to an access database that has been secured using the Security Wizard. I have been able to set up the data connection by choosing the Microsoft Jet 4.0 OLE DB Provider and specified the path to the workgroup file by editing the value of Jet OLEDB:System database on the All tab. I also wish to not save the ...

Set up your main connection to only pull the data you want to eventually submit, then set up secondary connections to your database to pull the remainder of the data. You might need to use a master-detail control to show all the data from the secondary connection that is readonly info.
The other option (sorry, requires coding) is to have a Web ...

Are you positive that current() is pointing to a value that should match with @Access_record, and that it shouldn't perhaps be something more like 'current()/@attribute' or 'current()/Element' or something?

What is the function that the code is in? Is it OnAfterChange or OnSubmitRequest? I think the SPListItem dereference may be bad. Not sure about the syntax but [''Status] seems bad. And, the list items can't be set to strings since they are objects. Do you have the SharePoint SDK?
If you'd like, we can spend a couple hours and fix this for you. ...

Hi again,
Here is my code Patrick:
oXmlHttp.Open(''DELETE'', strUrl, false);
oXmlHttp.Open(''PUT'', strUrl, false);
oXmlHttp.Send(XDocument.DOM.xml);
SPListItem[''Status''] = ''To be Approved'';
SPListItem.Update();
Do I need to define any variables because it is not working :(
The form is saved but without the Status.
The ...

Hi again Christiane,
No, it's easy to update. We do this too for several projects. Do you have the signature on the section or the entire DOM? Maybe you aren't using per-section signatures even though you mentioned that above. I'd check on that. You'll want to use the OnSubmit event handler to get the SPListItem after submitting and then modifying ...

Thanks for your Reply Patrick.
But my status field is outside the signed section.
But because signature node afterupdate event handler, DOM is read-only??
I am now thinking of updating the sharepoint status field with SPListItem.
Is that complicated?
Can I do it in Jscript?
Thanks.

Hi Christiane,
You'll want to move the field outside of the signed section. If the field is in the section and you sign it, you can't change it. That is the design. Otherwise, the signature wouldn't mean anything - if people could change it after signing. You could also set the form up to do counter sign which allows signatures on top of ...

Is it possible to submit only certain fields to a database instead of the whole form? Also is there anyway to build a submit function to a database after a form has been started?
I've created a form that mainly functions as a visual spreadsheet. I have never had to pull data from it until now. I only need to submit the data from 4 fields in a ...
