These suggestions and clarifications are appreciated. I plan to try them out over the weekend. Sorry to say however, that I don't know what a ''trigger field'' is and I don't see anything in InfoPath help. Maybe I know the concept by another name. A simple example might help. Thanks.

Codes run okay when sourcePhDirect <> null but when it's blank the value of sourceExt is being returned as null even though it has a value. This for the business card order form where the phone value is fill-in from another form using the direct line number but if an employee doesn't have one then it's the company main number plus the ...

I thought I had the pointer pointing right but I don't. As an experiment, in preview mode, I ...

I have a new hire form that gets updated by multiple departments from MIS, Purchasing, Hiring Mgr and so on. I want to know how we can save all filled out forms to a folder should we need to create report. Can someone tell me I can change the attachment to form1 to a more meaningful name. After submit it asked me to save the form in which I use ...

Keep in mind that there are two parts to a drop-down list box: the stored value and the displayed value. The displayed value is pointless to this discussion -- it simply is the text shown to the user so that they don't ever have to see the stored value.

Preview is based on whatever your current designer view is. If you want to start in a certain view when priviewing, switch to that view first, then preview.
Verify your open rules do or don't set a default view. Verify your code does or does not set a default view.

The trick, as described above, for your scenari is to use a single field (the root node) to store the active field information.
if (eventObj.Type != ''ContextNode'' || eventObj.IsUndoRedo)
return;
var oRoot = XDocument.DOM.selectSingleNode(''/my:myFields''); // or whatever your root node is.
XDocument.SetNamedNodeProperty(oRoot, ...

I have designed a form which I have been using for a while now
Today I decided to add a new view and set it as the default view
However when I preview the form the ''old default view'' still opens
The designer definately says the default view has been changed but no matter what I do it does not change when I preview or publish
Any ideas?
