    Modify Drop-Down list box

    Hi
I have created a orderform published on a Sharepoint site.
In a drop-down list box I have entered some items that can be ordered.
If a change name or delete one entry in the listbox all previous orders with that entry looses the value.
Is this the way it is supposed to work?

If I order "item A" and then "item A" is replaced with "item B" I don't want those orders to be blank (dispalys "Select...")
    Someone with similar problem?
    Best regards
    Kim

Keep in mind that there are two parts to a drop-down list box: the stored value and the displayed value. The displayed value is pointless to this discussion -- it simply is the text shown to the user so that they don't ever have to see the stored value.

The way the drop-down list box is supposed to work is this:

If a stored value matches the actual value in the field, then the display value is shown to the user.

If there is no stored value which matches the actual value in the field, then the actual value in the field is displayed in the drop-down in place of a display value.

If you are getting "Select..." then it would seem that your actaul value in the field has been reset to blank.

How come that this is not the behaviour when the drop-down list is connected to a Sharepoint list?
Then an old deleted value (not existing in Sharpointlist) is displayed when you re-open the form.
