Ah, now I understand. Yes, 2013 includes two separate pieces, filler and designer. How do you currently install just Filler? I've not had to do that myself, so I'm not sure if the same approach would work with 2013, but it seems like it should be reasonably simple to test on a VM or test machine?

Ah hah! Now I understand. In your list, you need to turn on versioning. Then you need a multi-line field with "append changes" selected - see attached. :)

There is an InfoPath 2013 that has the ability to open Filler forms. Download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48734  - I have InfoPath 2013 installed and the Office 365 version of Microsoft Office - both 64-bit - and they are running fine together. Hope that helps :)
